Kid's Classes

Bay-Made is excited to announce that we are now offering classes just for your younger crafters! We’ll be kicking off Summer 2019 with a kids dedicated 3-day camp that will have sessions running from June 10th until August 9th, all supplies included!

Three day camp sessions will be for ages 6-9 yrs (Junior Crafters) and 10 and up (Tween/Teen Crafters). Each session will have a new theme with different projects hand-picked to get your children messy and experimenting with new ways to use tools they can find around the house or at a local craft store. The Sunday following our last camp session in August we will be hosting a gallery show open to parents and the public for your kids to show off their favorite creations to the community. We are so excited for this new adventure for our shop and we can’t wait to craft with your kids!

Myth and Magic Week July 8-12

155.00

Myth & Magic Week is a week dedicated to magical creatures and beasts! Your child will utilize a range of materials such as clay, moss/bark, and wire armatures to create 3 displayable projects during the 3-Day camp session. Kids will get to experiment with sculpting, bookmaking, and character design techniques to expose them to a range of artistic avenues! There is no limit to what your children will create in these classes; we will guide the children along through the types of projects listed below but their end result will be the culmination of the skills they learn and their own creative input! We are seeking to foster a place where children can not only experiment but also have a safe space to fail and try again and learn that sometimes mistakes in making art are part of the beauty of the process!

About the Instructor:

Whitney is a fantasy illustrator and fabrication artist from San Francisco who has worked with children as a caregiver and camp counselor for 15 years. She loves giving children the space to thrive through experimental and creative pursuits and hopes these classes will allow them to discover new passions while getting their hands dirty! Her own work draws off of her love for faeries and beasties, using multiple techniques such as illustration, sculpting, sewing, and bookmaking to bring her own creatures to life. She is currently developing a kids designated website called PipsHollow that will offer downloadable DIY projects as well as educational/ eco-friendly content. You can find more of her work on her website: tinkerillustration.com
